Awesome Joe Auction’s patent-pending Buy Confident ProcessSM creates a new dynamic for buyers and breaks the mold of typical online transactions by utilizing a system where buyers and sellers work together every step of the way.
It works by having a seller list their vehicle on our digital marketplace along with vehicle conditions that will be validated in the event of a sale. If the seller does not include conditions on their listing, they are choosing not to participate in our Buy Confident Process and will sell at their own discretion.
Once a buyer agrees to purchase a vehicle with listed conditions, they will deposit $500.00 (or less depending on the sale price*) into a secure escrow account set up by the seller within seven days after the sale. The seller has two days after a buyer has agreed to purchase their vehicle to setup the escrow account. Our Awesome Joe Agents can help set up the escrow account and help buyers make their deposit.
Once the deposit has been made, the seller will pay a small fee to have the listed vehicle conditions validated by a third party or parties and will have the report sent to the buyer. The buyer can request a specific validator be used or to add specific conditions to the report, but it is the seller’s choice to accommodate those requests. The condition validation report is performed and sent AFTER the buyer has agreed to purchase the vehicle and has made the required deposit.
After the condition validation report is sent to the buyer the escrow deposit will be released to the seller. If the seller fails to complete the report the deposit will be returned to the buyer, subsequently if the buyer backs out of the deal before the condition validation has been completed the seller keeps the deposit.
NOTE: If the condition validation report reveals different information than what the seller originally presented on their listing, the buyer does NOT have to buy the vehicle and can back out of the deal with no repercussions.
The Buy Confident Process only applies to listings that have vehicle conditions added and is not mandatory. If both parties agree to not use the process (even if conditions are listed), they can proceed with the transaction in any manner.
NOTE: It is the seller’s discretion to add more conditions and reporters to a listing. We recommend sellers do some research and shop around before adding a validator. It is important to know what a shop will charge for a condition validation report before you add them to your listed validators.
*If a vehicle sells for under $5,000.00, the buyer’s required deposit will be 10% of whatever the final sale price is.
